Demand for print packaging will continue to grow robustly over the next several years, underpinned by continued economic growth, development, and positive demographic shifts in key areas of the world. Keeping pace, broad based technological developments are occurring rapidly. Whether a folded box, labels, corrugated board or flexible printing, advancements in digitalization are paving the way for innovations in the customizing and personalization areas. China’s corrugated print packaging segment is the largest in the world partly because of its export-dominated economy. Corrugated accounts for $29bn of the print packaging total revenue in 2016. By 2020, this number will grow to $35 bn.

Thayer Long
President, Association for PRINT Technologies (APTech)
Thayer Long is President of the Association for PRINT Technologies (APTechSM), formerly known as NPES. In addition to leading APTech, Mr. Long also serves as president of the Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF).Mr. Long joined the Association in April 2016, bringing eight years of effective leadership experience in all aspects of association management including strategic plan development, trade show management, government affairs, education and foundation work.
With nearly 20 years of association experience, Mr. Long previously served as Executive Vice-President and CEO of the Independent Electrical Contractors, where he was responsible for executing the strategic mission of the organization in conjunction with over 50 chapters nationwide.
Prior to IEC, Mr. Long served as President and CEO of the Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI), a national trade association for the factory-built housing industry with a network of over 50 state associations.
Mr. Long joined MHI from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), where his experience encompassed working in regional field operations at the grassroots level, and state and local political operations.

Dr. Markus Heering
Managing Director, German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA)
Dr. Markus Heering is the Managing Director of the German Association of Printing and Paper Technology as well as Security Systems within VDMA (the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association) and AGAM, the Additive Manufacturing Association.
Dr. Markus Heering has held the position of Managing Director of the German Association of Printing and Paper Technology within VDMA since January 2008 and, in this capacity, he is also a member of the drupa Board. In addition to his role as representative of the interests of German manufacturers in the printing and paper technology industry, Dr. Heering is the Managing Director of:
●ESSA – The International Security Association,
●ECB – The European Certification Body for Security Products,
●FGD – The Research Association for Printing Machines
●PP – PrintPromotion GmbH
Born in Westphalia, he gained his doctorate in process engineering at the RWTH Aachen University. He began his professional career as an engineer and project leader at an environmental protection technology specialist before joining VDMA in 2000.

George Tan
Regional Manager, MPS Systems Asia Sdn, Bhd.
George Tan is the regional manager of MPS in China and Taiwan, Southeast Asia. He has over 15 years of experience in the label and packaging industries. George started his career in 2003 with Sanki, Japan’s Malaysia branch, as a regional sales and marketing executive supporting the customers in Southeast Asia, South China and Taiwan. Most recently, he worked as a product manager and as a distributor of Durst’s label and packaging segment in Southeast Asia based in Malaysia.
Dr. Bing Wang
Managing Director, EFI Greater China
He was previously Managing Director of Kodak China. Within Kodak, Dr. Wang undertook a number of positions: General Manager, Digital Printing Business for Asia-Pacific; General Manager, Kodak Graphics Communication Group, Greater China Region; and Managing Director, Kodak Graphics Communication Group, Greater China Cluster. Dr. Wang also held senior management positions with Creo and Heidelberg Druckmaschnen.           
Dr. Wang holds both a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Electronic Engineering, and achieved a Doctorate of Engineering, from the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) in Germany.
Ray Duval
Director, Solutions Sales, Ultimate TechnoGraphics
With over 18 years in the printing industry, Ray Duval has been proactively providing technical consultation and solutions recommendations, helping customers further develop their workflow expertise for digital printing, including more precisely, on demand packaging and labels, short run book printing, transactional, photobooks and photo specialty products, fully automated digital print workflows, web2print and finishing automation. Ray Duval has helped organizations worldwide to structure, improve, automate and optimize their production.

Yaping Zhou
Director, Greater China Operations, Harris & Bruno International
Mr. Zhou is the founder and President of Zynet International Inc. With over 35 years of professional, technical and international business management experience, he is a renowned expert in printing technologies and business. He was the NPES Greater China Project Director; Founder and Executive Director of the US-Sino Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies Center (1996-2011); and Chief Representative of the NPES China Office (2003-2012). Since 2012, he has also been serving as Director of Greater China Operations for Harris & Bruno International.
Lancy Zhang
Sales and Marketing Director, Greater China
, Kodak Enterprise Inkjet System Division
Lancy Zhang brings over 16 years of experience in the printing industry with a focus in marketing, business development, OEM projects and sales. She previously worked for Xerox, Vegra and HP. Presently, she is the Sales and Marketing Director of Greater China, Kodak Enterprise Inkjet System Division.
Don Allred
VP, Memjet Packaging

From the time it was an art to today’s print norms, Don Allred, VP of Memjet Packaging, has dedicated his career to the field of inkjet printing. Don uses his expertise to problem solve and find niche markets where distinctive digital print solutions thrive. When Don isn’t at the center of all-things-inkjet, he enjoys cheering on his favorite sports teams from the sidelines, Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes. He’s also fascinated with deconstructing unique packaging that lands on his doorstep.

Mandy Wang
Sales Director, Shanghai ZIDAN Packaging Technology Co., Ltd.   

Mandy joined the ZIJIANG Group in 2015 and works for the subsidiary branches: ZIDAN packaging technology, ZIDAN printing and ZIDAN food packaging as the sales director. She has more than 10 years of management experience in the printing and packaging industries. Over the years, she has dedicated time in providing integrative packaging solutions for her customers nationally as well as internationally. Her goal is helping enhance customers’ brand by promoting the function of packaging.

Rob Vermeulen
Director, ORV – Consultancy

Rob Vermeulen is the founder of Rob Vermeulen Design and an active member of the EPDA Executive Committee who has, since 2003, been the President of the Pan European Brand Design Association.  He has been a juror on the Red Dot Design Award, a prestigious product design competition. As a member of the Color Marketing Group (CMG), Rob organizes workshops about color trends forecasting and the impact of color in today’s product design and marketing. For Siegwerk Int’l. he facilitated a color-tour around the world. Rob Vermeulen was a founding member of BNO and Creating Brands, and was a President of the Limburg Design Association. In 2003 he joined the Board of the Limburg region, where he resides, in service to promote the region.
