Company information

Offset Printer’s Association (OPA) was established in the year 1988 to look after the day to day problems of the printing and packaging industry. The OPA has established itself into a dynamic and influential organization that provides a strong voice for the needs of printing community. We at OPA believe that serving the printing industry is our motive and for this we have not limited ourselves to Ludhiana only but tried to reach at the every corner of the region. Gutenberg Festival: Every year on the eve of Holi we remember the Father of Modern Printing by way of celebrating a family function ‘OPA Carnival’ Print Yatra: OPA is the only and premier association to launch ‘Print Yatra’ to persuade the printers to form associations. Through ‘Print Yatra’ we have already covered approx. 17,332 kms. in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Chandigarh. Besides this we have also visited 13 cities of South India in the year 2014 covering a distance of 2845 K.M. Through this project we are motivating the printers to work jointly in close cooperation for the overall benefit of the printing industry. It is worth mentioning that due to these efforts, 51 new printers’ associations emerged mostly in Northern region. Print Luminaries Awards: OPA is again the first and only association to institute awards for the recognition of print luminaries, which are considered to be the highest honour for a printer in India. Taking a cue from the non-availability of skilled workers, Print Chetna: OPA is the first and only association to launch yet another unique and first of its kind project ‘PRINT CHETNA’. Under this project we have already covered 52 schools and educational centers, persuading the students to adopt Printing as a career. At the same time training centers are being started within the factories to impart on floor training for the ‘out of school’ and ‘school dropout’ younger generation. It is small step to bring the required change in the society. International Visits: Just to update the knowledge of the members and other printers, OPA has organized more than 47 group visits to international trade shows in various countries. 21 group visits out of these were supported by the Government of India, Ministry of MSME under IC scheme. Full air ticket of the delegate is reimbursed by the GOI under this scheme. OPA is proud to be the only association in India to distribute Rs. 22.2 million of grant in aid received from GOI under this scheme. Printing & Packaging Cluster: With the efforts of OPA in 2010 Government of India declared Ludhiana as the Printing & Packaging Cluster. Soft Intervention for the cluster is already completed and now we are working on for the establishment of ‘Common Facility Centre’ for the overall benefit of the printers of the region. Proud to be a Printer: The slogan is the contribution of OPA
