Resource Label Group, a full-service provider of pressure sensitive label, shrink sleeve and RFID/NFC technology for the packaging industry, has acquired Paragon Label, a supplier of labeling solutions for the premium wine segment based in the US. Just recently the company also has acquired the Candian company Ingenious Packaging, also offering labeling solutions. Terms of both transactions were not disclosed. Resource Label is a company of First Atlantic Capital, a New York-based private investment firm, and TPG Growth.

TPG Growth is a middle market and growth equity investment platform of TPG, which joined the Resource Label sponsorship group – according to the company – as a significant investor in May 2018.

Acquisition of Paragon Label

Located in Petaluma, California, Paragon primarily services premium wine customers in Sonoma and Napa Counties and offers a range of flexo and digital printing capabilities. Paragon is also equipped with proprietary finishing technology that enhances the shelf appeal of its customers’ products.

“I am proud to welcome Jason Grossman and his employees to our team,” said Bob Simko, President and CEO of Resource Label. “We will continue to support the business that Jason has successfully built over the last twenty years.”

According to Emilio Pedroni, Managing Director at First Atlantic Capital, Paragon, being located in the heart of the California wine region, will be a “tremendous addition to Resource Label”.”

Acquisition of Ingenious Packaging

Located in Toronto, Canada, Ingenious services customers across the food, beverage, health and beauty, spirits, nutraceutical, distribution, tobacco and pharmaceutical industries.

Ingenious is fully equipped with flexo, digital and offset printing capabilities and the ancillary finishing assets to offer a full breadth of pressure sensitive, cut and stack and in-mould labels as well as shrink sleeves and banding products.

Resouce Label ordered a new 17″ (431.8”) wide Mark Andy P7 flexo press for the facility in Toronto. This order is, according Bob Simko, President and CEO of Resource Label, “an initial sign of the commitment to Ingenious’ employees, customers and capital expansion strategy”. According to him Resouce Label intends to provide the support to meet both the current and future growth needs of Ingenious’ customers throughout North America.
