Swiss-German narrow-web press specialists Gallus Ferd. Rüesch AG have launched their new ‘Diamond Core’ series, as part of a drive to satisfy ever-changing consumer demands.

Consisting of four new models, each one specifically tailored towards a different market, the Diamond Core range aims to provide flexible and reliable printing solutions. At the heart of each machine is the ‘diamond core’ of its Digital Print Unit, which offers high-quality 1200 x 1200 dpi UV inkjet printing Fujifilm Samba printheads and bespoke pinning modules. As well as simulating the Pantone Plus colour scale – plus optional digital white with high opacity – production speed can hit 70m/min across a variety of substrates, allowing it to power through a range of print applications.

The workhorses of the range are the Labelfire D1 and D2, which offer industrial scale digital printing. With no need for inline finishing, they’re suitable for all printing companies, offering clear definition direct from roll-to-roll (with or without digital white).

Labelfire D1 is the 4-colour CMYK entry-level model, suited to commodity labels with changing small-run dimension.

Labelfire D2 adds green, orange and violet to provide perfect colour-matching for more challenging designs, making it ideal for cosmetic and body care products.

Labelfire D3 (CMYK) and D4 (CMYK GOV) use hybrid technology to add integrated inline finishing and embellishing modules to the Diamond Core range. Equipped with flexo plates and die-cutting units for easy single-pass printing, both the D3 and D4 can go from file to finished die-cut label in just one printing pass. Additional laminating/varnishing modules and cold foil units help make even small label print runs more cost-effective.

“With the Gallus Labelfire Diamond Core Series, we offer a suitable range for all types of printers, regardless of their level of experience and scope of requirements”, explains Thomas Schweizer, head of business management at Gallus. “We offer a fully comprehensive service, with all maintenance work included in the price for the first year of operation. Thereafter our customers can choose from three service packages with optional and flexible expansion, from the low-cost basic rate to the all-round carefree package.”
