Industrial output of the printing industry remained stable in the third quarter

Recently, the British Federation of Printing Industries released the "Printing Outlook" research report. According to the report, 43% of printers successfully increased production levels in the third quarter of 2022, and another 41% were able to maintain stable production levels. The remaining 16 percent experienced a decline in output levels.

For the fourth quarter, the consensus forecast is that rising costs and output prices will reduce demand below levels typically expected for the period, against the usual seasonal increase at the end of the year.

Concerns about energy costs go beyond their direct impact on printers' energy bills, BPIF said, as companies realize that energy costs are very closely linked to the cost of the paper and board they buy.
